ABOUT

You Are Super is a project that invites us to see disabilities in a different light. It aims to reduce bullying, especially towards people with special needs, within schools and throughout our society.

To do it, we have created a tool. The wonderful picture book “SuperKids”. A 2015 Moonbeam Children's Book Award winner of a Gold Medal, that motivates us to always look for the good in others, showing us the abilities that people with disabilities can develop, instead of what they cannot do. It’s a book that highlights the positive, motivating others to respect diversity and to find their own power.

Our goal is to spread this message to as many children as possible. For them to wear a superhero cape and face life sure of themselves, searching for the best in everyone else.

Dare to find and highlight the positive not only in others, but also in yourself. Because we all have weaknesses and abilities that make us unique.

Because, You are Super!

Official Song of the project:

BE SUPER!

YOU CAN HELP!

You have the power to make a difference. Together we can make many children perceive disability differently, and strengthen the self-confidence of those with special needs, encouraging them to face life as Ivan does: always looking for the best in others.

ANYA DAMIRÓN

Anya Damiron was born in Santo Domingo on October 15, 1982. From the start she was a curious girl who dreamed up wonderful things. As an adult, she worked in advertising as a copywriter and on the creative team for several Dominican advertising agencies. It was this that helped Anya discover her love for creating ideas and working with both images and writing.
After her first book, Just, was published in 2005, she began to work on Lucia’Stories. Since 2008, she has self-published fourteen picture books and has created more than 25 products to promote the series, resulting in over sixty thousand book sales in the Dominican Republic.

LUCIA´STORIES

Lucia’Stories is a bilingual collection of children’s picture books, written by Anya Damiron and illustrated by Pablo Pino. These books have been published and sold exclusively in the Dominican Republic.
All show the value of being unique and emphasize that every child is exceptional in some way. Through imaginative, colorful illustrations and concepts that illuminate how the ordinary can become extraordinary, these books encourage readers to explore their worlds, enjoy their talents, and—most of all—have fun!

PABLO PINO

Pablo Pino is a self-taught illustrator and caricaturist from Argentina. Drawing, painting, and creating characters and worlds are what he loves to do. For the last several years, he has been lucky to use this love in his professional career as an illustrator.
He is inventive and studious—always trying new things to enrich his work.
His work has been published by many publishers, including Ed Port of Sticks, SA, Ed Planeta de Agostini, Ed Cassava Station, Lesa Editions, Ed Santillana (Puerto Rico), Ed Santillana (Colombia), Ed Richmond Publishing (Mexico), Standard Ed (Puerto Rico), and Lucia'Stories.
